External shell fragile, oval, unable to accommodate the animal during defensive retraction; several whorls; operculum absent.
Cephalic shield with inconspicuous rounded wing-like antero-lateral expansions. Parapodia large, natatory, meeting over the shell mid-dorsally. Gill present in the mantle cavity.
Gizzard with numerous plates; radula n .1.n .
