Odostomia turrita

Description (shell):
Shell smaller than Odostomia unidentata with a tall, blunt spire, with four whorls and the protoconch. Faint prosocline growth lines present; sometimes with spiral striature. Whorls flat-sided, last whorl keeled at broadest point, appearing angular. Aperture oval; columellar tooth and umbilicus distinct (O. turrita-drawing).

Size:
Up to 2.8 mm.

Colour:
Shiny, opaque white to yellow, with greyish tinge towards spire.

Habitat:
Host unknown.

Distribution:
Reported from scattered localities in the North Sea (Distr. O. turrita).
