Sars G.O., 1878

The shell is less than 6 mm in height, often only 2-3 mm; an elongate, pointed cone of markedly tumid whorls (9-11 in most species), smooth or with peripheral spiral striae. Aperture small, rounded oval; umbilicus a conspicuous chink in most species. Proboscis eversible, no snout; most species without pallial tentacle. Probably carnivorous.
