Rafinesque, 1815

Shell conical or cap-shaped with no spiral coiling; operculum absent. Foot large and oval, with horseshoe-shaped muscle attachment to shell. Mantle cavity a shallow groove around base of foot, deepening to nuchal cavity behind the head. Mantle edge bears pallial gills; no ctenidium in nuchal cavity.
