Gastropods with partly or wholly detorted body; shelled or shell-less. Gills lacking; respiration carried out by the mantle cavity, which functions as a lung. Entirely hermaphroditic. Mostly in freshwater or terrestrial habitats, with a few marine species occuring in shallow coastal water.
