Shell conical or cap-shaped with reticulate sculpture of radiating ribs and concentric growth lines; often retaining an one- or two-whorled protoconch. Shell perforated apically or sub-apically by a single hole or marginally by a narrow slit; no operculum; epipodial tentacles well-developed.
