Bergh in Carus, 1889

Mobile, aggressive aeolidaceans, having a cleioproctic anal position (within the foremost ceratal group derived on the right side from the left digestive gland) and regular rows of cerata in both pre- and post-cardiac groups; the ducts of the digestive gland are irregularly branched. Propodial tentacles and long, agile oral tentacles are present; the rhinophores are lamellate or tuberculate, occasionally smooth. The penis is usually simple but occasionally armed with spines or hooks; there is usually one receptaculum, occasionally two.
The jaws may be smooth edged or bear a single row of denticles. The radular teeth each have a prominent cusp and lateral denticles; radula uniseriate.
