Shell equivalve, equilateral or just inequilateral. Ligament external, thin, and internal, in a small chondrophore recessed within the hinge line. Two or three cardinal teeth in each valve; in the left, two cardinals fused to form a single forked structure. Lateral teeth present. Pallial line with a pallial sinus.
