Shell equivalve, equilateral or just inequilateral. Ligament with a small external element, and a larger internal element in a triangular chondrophore recessed within the hinge line. Right valve with two cardinal teeth, left with one. Lateral teeth variously developed. Pallial line with a sinus. Cruciform muscles present, cruciform muscle scars indistinct.
