Shell inequivalve, right valve slightly larger or more convex than left one, inequilateral. Ligament external and internal, the latter in a triangular chondrophore; supported by a lithodesma, a short calcified peg fitting into a notch anterior to chondrophore. No hinge teeth. Pallial line with a sinus.
