Caecum glabrum

Description (shell):
Adult shell curved, glossy, without annulations; apex sealed by a dome-shaped calcareous plug (C. glabrum-drawing).

Size:
Up to 2.5 x 0.5 mm.

Colour:
White; operculum yellow.

Animal:
Body as in Caecum trachea : snout flat, deeply bifid; cephalic tentacles long, with setose tips. No pallial tentacles.
Operculum convex.

Habitat:
Habitat as for Caecum trachea : sublittoral, on sand and sandy-mud, to 250 m.

Distribution:
Distributed from Mediterranean to Norway and west coast of Sweden (Distr. C. glabrum). Common, but inconspicuous.
