Description (shell):
Shell with long conical spire, with five whorls and protoconch; last whorl occupies about 70 % of the total height. Shell more oval than Odostomia carrozzai . No sculpture; weak growth lines visible on last whorl; whorls flat-topped at sutures. Aperture elongate-oval, with thickened outer lip; columellar tooth well-developed, extending as ridge into aperture; umbilicus shallow, obscured by columella but visible on broken shells.
Size:
Up to 5.2 mm.
Colour:
Shell white to yellowish-white.
Habitat:
Parasitic on a large number of lamellibranchs and also the prosobranch Turritella communis .
Distribution:
Scattered localities in the North Sea (Distr. O. eulimoides).
