Odostomia plicata

Description (shell):
Shell with tall slender spire, with six whorls and the protoconch; smooth and glossy, with faint growth lines. Sutures well-marked, whorls flat-topped. Aperture broadened forming a drop shape, with gently curved, thickened outer lip. Columellar tooth well-marked, extending as ridge into aperture; umbilicus small, sometimes obscured by columellar lip (O. plicata-drawing).

Size:
Up to 3.8 mm.

Colour:
White.

Distribution:
Scattered localities in the North Sea (Distr. O. plicata).
