Description (shell):
Shell is smooth, minute, consisting largely of a shallow last whorl, and completely covering the body of the animal. Surface with faint concentric growth lines.

Size:
Up to 2 mm long.

Colour:
Reddish-brown to purple.

Habitat:
Upper shore, in barnacle tests and among short, dense weeds such as Lichina pygmaea .

Distribution:
Predominantly southern in distribution. Perhaps locally common, but inconspicuous (Distr. O. ovata).
