Description (shell):
Shell like Hydrobia ulvae , but with more tumid whorls and a larger umbilicus.
Size:
Up to 4.5 mm high.
Habitat:
In brackish waters, estuaries and sea water with an average salinity.
Distribution:
East coast of the southern North Sea in the outflow of estuaries (Distr. S. stagnorum).
