Shell elongate, equivalve, inequilateral; gaping anteriorly and posteriorly. Ligament external. Hinge line with peg-like cardinal teeth, no more than two in each valve; lateral teeth present or absent. Pallial line with sinus. Cruciform muscles present, scars indistinct.
